Firesprite raise £1,680 for SpecialEffect

Team Firesprite take part in the Northern Masters in aid of the gamers’ charity

Last Friday, a team of our nimble-footed sprites took part in The Games Industry 5’s, a five-a-side charity football tournament, to raise money for SpecialEffect.

Team Firesprite SpecialEffect

The Northern Masters, held in Liverpool, saw 24 games industry teams go head-to-head in aid of this wonderful charity working to ‘put fun and inclusion back into the lives of physically disabled people by helping them to play video games.’

SpecialEffect transform the lives of people with physical challenges and optimise inclusion and quality of life through innovative technologies.

Through their impactful work, SpecialEffect are “levelling the video game playing field for people with disabilities. By using solutions ranging from modified controllers to eye-tracking sensors, we’re finding ways for people to play to the very best of their abilities. It’s life-transforming work that’s bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on quality of life.”

Thanks to the incredibly generous donations from our sprites and our community, Firesprite proudly donated a total of £1,680 to this invaluable charity!

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated, and a very special thank you too to team Firesprite; Duncan, Ricardo, Martin, Joe, Tom, Tommaso, Ibrahim, Matthew, Ryan, Ed, Wyn and David. Our 2 teams made it through to the first knockout and the semi-finals and truly did us all proud!!
