Team Firesprite take part in the Northern Masters in aid of the gamers’ charity
This May, two more teams of our nimble-footed sprites took part in The Games Industry 5’s, an annual five-a-side charity football tournament, to raise money for SpecialEffect.
The Northern Masters, held in Liverpool, saw games industry teams go head-to-head in aid of this wonderful charity working to ‘put fun and inclusion back into the lives of physically disabled people by helping them to play video games.’
SpecialEffect transform the lives of people with physical challenges and optimise inclusion and quality of life through innovative technologies.
Through their impactful work, SpecialEffect are “levelling the video game playing field for people with disabilities. By using solutions ranging from modified controllers to eye-tracking sensors, we’re finding ways for people to play to the very best of their abilities. It’s life-transforming work that’s bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on quality of life.”
Thanks to the incredibly generous donations from our sprites, community and friends, Firesprite proudly donated a total of £870 to this invaluable charity!
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated, and a very special thank you too to team Firesprite 2023; Kevin, Tom, Martin, Matthew, Ruslan, Aiden, Ryan, Ricardo, Wyn, David and Hafi. Our two teams made it through to the quarter final stages and truly did us all proud!!
