Inspiring the next generation of talent with PlayStation!
In October, we were absolutely delighted to be invited to a King’s Trust Get Started with Games Design event, organised and hosted by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).
SIE and The Trust have a relationship now over 14 years’ strong; and Firesprite were absolutely thrilled to take part in their recent Liverpool programme, designed to support the next generation of aspiring developers!
Over two days, our sprites and other talented PlayStation representatives joined a group of students to share their career stories, host panel discussions, answer questions, advise on interviews, and perform CV workshops.
Our Game Designers, Emily Stell, and Zaid Shaikh, Senior Programmer, Guilherme Silva and Junior Sound Designer, Chris Gallagher offered insights into their discipline, career journey and craft.
A huge thank you to these talented sprites who reported back that the SIE-led programme was a fantastic initiative for the students and a truly welcome opportunity for them to make a positive impact on young people’s future.
About The King’s Trust (formerly The Prince’s Trust)
The King’s Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter what their background or the challenges they are facing. We help those from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.
The courses offered by The Trust help young people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work and access job opportunities. We support them to find work because having a job or running a business can lead to a more stable, fulfilling life.
